Cookie and Local Storage Policy

Effective 19 September 2026

Technologies used

The current production website does not deploy Google Analytics, advertising cookies, marketing pixels or cross-site behavioural tracking. The Insights listing uses a validated article list included in the website build if its live feed is temporarily unavailable. The current site does not save that list to your browser's local storage. Older visits may have left a legacy Insights cache that the current site no longer reads or updates. Our public Resources use Supabase without a visitor login or persistent authenticated session. Hosting and security infrastructure may use mechanisms necessary to deliver pages, protect the service and prevent abuse; these are not used by Allington Advisors for advertising.

A separate analytics-preference control is prepared but not active while analytics remains unconfigured. If optional Google Analytics 4 is activated after separate configuration and owner approval, a browser choice would be saved under aa_analytics_consent_v1 and Google Analytics would load only after an affirmative choice. At that point Google's first-party ga and _ga<measurement-id> cookies may be set for visitor and session measurement.

Purposes

The website's built-in article list keeps public Insights available during a temporary network failure without storing them on your device. Essential delivery and security mechanisms keep the site working and protect it against misuse. Proposed optional analytics would help us understand aggregate page and resource use and improve the site. It is not needed to use the contact form or access the website. We do not currently use advertising, retargeting or cross-site profiling technologies.

Providers

Website and API requests are delivered through Vercel. Public resource metadata and files may be requested from Supabase and its delivery network. Contact-form messages are handled through Resend. If optional analytics is later activated, its provider will be Google Analytics; we will update this policy to reflect the final configuration before enabling it. Third-party websites linked from our pages, such as LinkedIn, apply their own notices when you visit them.

Retention

A legacy Insights cache from earlier site versions may remain on your device until you clear your browser's local storage; the current site does not read or update it. If analytics is enabled, the saved choice lasts up to 180 days before we ask again. Google's default ga and _ga<measurement-id> cookies last up to two years, subject to browser limits and the final analytics configuration, and would be deleted by our site when you withdraw consent where technically possible. Provider-side service logs follow those providers' configured retention arrangements.

Choices and withdrawal

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing a legacy Insights cache will not affect the current site's built-in fallback or the live feed. Optional analytics remains off unless you choose Accept or turn it on in Customise; Reject leaves it off, and the contact form continues to work. Once analytics is configured, an Analytics preferences control in the footer will let you change or withdraw a choice at any time. A withdrawn choice stops further analytics loading and removes first-party Google Analytics cookies where technically possible; it does not reverse information already processed. We review the inventory before introducing any new non-essential technology and at least annually. Questions may be sent to info@allingtonadvisors.com.
